Understand these key roles and responsibilities in your delivery team.
ERP implementation projects are typically complex, long duration and involve many stakeholders.
To manage the project the PM needs to divide it into Tracks or Workstreams.
(1) Leads manage the delivery of their track and report back to the PM at delvery team meetings.
(2) Key users may be tasked by Leads for example to test or document deliverables or to train end users.
(3) SMEs may be either internal or external 'functional experts' who may be unconnected to the project delivery and not part of the delivery team but called upon by the PM to add knowledge value to the project.
Lesson: Define your Leads, Key Users and SMEs prior to implementation and make sure they understand their role and responsibilities.
